Welcome to Howdale - a character cottage with sea views and very close to the beach, it would be hard not to enjoy it. Situated in the 'Old Sandsend Valley' backing onto Mulgrave woods with the old castle there are interests for all ages. Whitby is a beach walk (tides permitting) or a short bus or car journey away. With several recent refurbishments it offers three bedrooms - the main room with 5ft bed and a full en suite, twin room and bunk room with full sized 3ft beds and comfortable living areas. The lovely south facing garden has sea and valley views and is a perfect place to enjoy an evening drink after a day on the beach!
The sitting room is furnished with comfortable chairs and two sofas. Antique furniture enhances the period feel of the room. This, together with the flatscreen TV, DVD player, music centre and various books, makes this room cosy and pleasant if there is a wet day! There is a coal effect fire which adds a lovely glow in the evening but the cottage has excellent central heating and instant hot water so can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Howdale has free Wi-Fi and free landline local calls.
The Kitchen and dining area are extremely well equipped. The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, gas/electric cooker, food processor, electric whisk etc. There is almost everything you could think of (including a garlic press, lemon zester and grapefruit knife!) to make your holiday home from home. The dining area looks out onto the valley and stream.
The master bedroom contains a 5ft. double bed and an extra sitting area. Windows on three sides make this a light airy room and you can see the sea and garden when having your early morning tea in bed. This room has its own ensuite bathroom containing a bath, electric shower, wc and vanity unit.
The twin bedroom is furnished with antique oak furniture. The window looks out onto the stream and the sea beyond.
The bunk beds in the third bedroom are sturdy and solid being made of wood. They are three foot wide and comfortable for an adult to sleep on the bottom bunk.
The house bathroom has been refurbished to contain a kidney shaped bath with shower and screen, washbasin and WC.
The garden which is sheltered and south facing has sun (hopefully) from early morning until late in the day and is to the side and rear of the property. There is a summer house and garden furniture for your use.
There is new utility room containing the washing machine, tumble dryer, a sink and plenty of space to store beach equipment or walking clothes.
